I usually stay at the Hilton but for the dates in late October the rates are crazy.

Any other hotel suggestion for up to 200$$ per night?

Something modern around the CBD area. Close to Victoria Square. Any include breakfast as part of the rate?

I looked at Crowne but more expensive.. Maybe book it, but I keep thinking its Adelaide so don't think work will pay more ( similar to Sydney rates). Any newly renovated properties around.. Worth a try?

Afraid I don't know the new places these days - been living OS for the past 10 years and really only see stuff if I pass by.
I'm sure some regulars to ADL will chime in with suggestions, when I go back I stay with family so no need to check out hotels (except for the bars!! ;) )

coming from Adelaidean - how about giving the Mayfair a try - great boutique hotel from a few friends who have stayed there when they first opened. Looking at a weekend in Oct it might be slightly more expensive than your budget though. The location is as good as it'll get, smack in the middle of the city at the start of Rundle St.
It gets 4.5 on TA, 9.5 on booking.com
If you're into bars, check out 2KW which is right across the road, probably the hottest place to be in Adelaide these days (which i know doesn't say much) - https://www.facebook.com/2kwbar
Otherwise the Ibis is a great choice - brand new , 8.9 on booking.com and punching in random dates seems to fit your budget

if you're looking down Victoria square end of town then there isn't much - Treasury as someone else suggested is probably one of the nicer places. otherwise just google hotels along south terrace, quiet but close enough

do let us know what you decide and how you go

The Mayfair is very nice, doubt you'll get it under $200 though. Try the Majestic Rooftop maybe? Or the Rydges South Park?

I stay at the Majestic. Maybe try again tomorrow or give them a buzz.

When my employer is paying I stay at the Intercontinental, when I'm paying I much prefer the Crowne. The staff are super friendly, and every time we stay there they throw in an upgrade or a bottle of wine. We actually feel that we are valued guests when we stay there.
