Fantastic news, IHG has chosen to debut its Hotel Indigo brand in Brisbane. Great to also see the group expanding its portfolio in Brisbane:

It's next to the Blood Hound Bar. A fantastic spot for the fans of true micro brewed beer. Commercial beer is across the road at Pig n Whistle.

From what I understand Indigo is a mid-range property? Under InterCon but better than CP?

I had a good chat with the manager of the relatively new Indigo in Singapore recently, who said that the emphasis is on locale and authenticity, whereas some of the other IHG brands stress knowing you can get basically the same experience anywhere in the world.

I thought that particular hotel was excellent, but it is the only one I have ever visited.

The Singapore hotel had beautiful Peranakan touches throughout, I am not sure what the equivalent of that would be in Queensland.

I have since read elsewhere that Indigo is a boutique hotel experience, but in a chain so you are able to be rewarded with points etc.

I think Indigo is in between Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn.

Similar "spec level" to Crowne Plaza but "locally styled".

Had a good discussion with the CP in AMS central who are rebranding as an Indigo (currently out of action whilst refurb under way).

Emphasis on local styling / features.
