I'm on RJ183 to AMM via BKK from HKG in a couple of weeks. RJ uses the Travelers Lounge as its preferred lounge in HKG. I'm a touch apprehensive. Even its name is scary. I'm interested to know if anyone has experienced the said lounge and has a view whether I'd be better off heading for the nearest CX lounge. I've had great experiences in the CX lounges over the years. Flights seem to usually depart from gate 30 or thereabouts. As we'll be leaving town early after the hotel checkout we'll have plenty of time for lounging prior to the 21:35 flight.

That is one of the pay-in lounges. I wouldn't expect anything flash but it may be worth trying it out and reviewing on AFF.

Also if you are departing near gate 30 then you can finish off by visiting the Cabin before your flight.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

If this is the one operated by the Plaza Hotel, i found it fine. Excellent showers, reasonable selection of food, massage available. No wndows. Comfy lounges. Quiet areas. Spent about 8 hours there with some long walks out in te terminal.

HKG is their flagship, and the standards reflect this. I also overheard some pax who commented that it's nicer than the CX lounges, although I'm not convinced this is really the case as the renovated Wing is excellent. However, I don't think you can get free alcohol in the Travelers, so if that's your thing, definitely head over to CX. Having said that though, overall, I find the lounges offered by both companies to be of a high standard, and I wouldn't have any issue spending time in any of them.
