hitting gold part way through a trip - lounge access

It looks like with some J/F flights on Delta, and Y flight from LAX-NRT I will have hit gold with a couple of dom flights before hand.

A week after hitting gold I'll be flying SQ KIX-SIN-KUL.

What are my chances of being able to use the SQ lounge at KIX and Changi?

Does anyone have experience with how long it takes SQ flights to credit to their account?

I'm more keen on the lounge at KIX as it's a 2300 flight so would be nice to have somewhere to freshen up before the flight since I'll have been out all day.

It's a real shame SQ / DL don't get the status bonus miles

Not sure how long it takes ... But pretty sure you need the actual gold card at SG lounges to get in.Velocity seem to send the cards out within 2 weeks of becoming gold.

I turned Velocity Gold while I was in Lebanon in November, a few days before my Etihad flight back to Melbourne. I called the Velocity contact centre, they ended up emailing me a letter on Virgin Australia Letterhead that stated that I'd turned Gold on 27/11/11 and to please allow me any entitlements as a Gold Velocity member.

At BEY checkin, with letter in hand, I used the Business check in and recieved a pass to enter the MEA Lounge (EY partner lounge in Beirut). No issues using the lounge in AUH either!

So give the Velocity call centre a buzz, I reckon.

Might be able to just email them since I'll have a week for the flights to credit. Fingers crossed DL and SQ ain't tardy with it.
