Hertz Prestige Collection Melbourne Always Sold Out

I've just checked every weekend until the end of March 2011 and not one weekend has any prestige cars (Mercedes, Lexus) available at either Melbourne Downtown or Airport.

For comparison, I also checked Sydney and they have them available every weekend!

Does anyone know what's going on at Hertz Melbourne? Are they short on prestige cars or are the prestige cars just extremely popular in Melbourne?

ADL, BNE and PER also have cars available almost every weekend ... Very strange that MEL doesn't! Surely prestige cars can't be that much more popular in MEL?

CNS shows sold out every weekend, but I'm not sure they them yet/at all.

HBA don't have prestige cars available, but that's not surprising given they're an independent licensee.

yes i have wondered this too, I tried to book about 6 weeks ago for that time period and none have ever been available - i believe a whole bunch have been ordered but maybe they arent flowing through to Mel...

A little off topic, but have just booked a Hertz Prestige Collection (Mercedes C200K) for 3 days in Sydney this week. They currently have a special price, and so my 3 days in the Mercedes is costing only $1 more than a Corolla for the same dates.

Looked even further into this, and found they have a Hire 3 Pay 2 Midweek offer for Hertz No1 and so I have actually saved money compared to a Corolla rental. $63 per day for a Mercedes seems like great value to me!

I returned a Mercedes C200 to Melbourne Downtown at 8.30 this morning and there were several (3 or 4) other C200's in the car park waiting to go, so it appears they have at least a few, but a few may not be enough to supply demand. I was running late, so I forgot to ask whether they knew why they were always sold out.

The mid week (actually Mon-Thurs) pick-up 3 for 2 prestige deal for #1 Club Gold members has been available for more than 6 months - it's a great deal. I managed to get a C200 (FYI, they're actually CGI's [Turbo] rather than K's [Kompresser/Supercharger] - turbo motor is supposed to be much better than old supercharged motor) for 4 days from Melbourne Downtown 6 months ago for $195 (no excess reduction).
