Long time frequent flyer , first time forumite...

How good am I ... (LOL)

I spent 8 years in a row at Platinum Level with QANTAS also earning Gold for life along the way, got bumped down to Gold last year , they decided not to maintain my status despite my history and finishing the year only 40 points short of 9 years in a row... (not that I am bitter about that)

Am now a Platinum member with Velocity and have transferred all my business travel to Virgin / Singapore , so thanks for the memories Qantas... I did send an email to Qantas letting them know this but I got no reply, clearly they do not need the money...

Anyway , work and travel and travel and work is what I do , so this seems like a good place to chat to like minded people about stuff ....

Welcome aboard! Pity QF didn't reply to you, I'm sure your the perfect profile of flyer they wish to retain - unless its the leisure flyer that's happy with J* they're after...

Thanks SBF .... I am sure there is some reason in their madness somewhere... I am not missing them so far, SIA has better schedules out of Adelaide too ...

Indeed, hence the strangeness of Qantas's decision ... I have nothing to lose or gain flying with them now... Gold For Life is no different to regular gold apart from the lack of flights needed to keep it... ;-)

I find it interesting that Qantas did not comp you status after all those years. I was comped 2 years in a row when I was well short but I ended up getting there each time. I know someone who was comped 2 years in a row and they were actually way short each time and in fact may not have even had enough for Silver.

The decision making process makes no sense from the outside....
