I have a holiday booked next year to Canada and have booked flights with Air Canada from Brisbane to Vancouver in the dreamliner. Its a nice direct flight and the travel agent found a deal for premium economy that tempted me away from other more familiar airlines.

Im just wondering if anyone here has any experience with Air Canada
or even better, any experience with premium economy aboard Air Canada

How would you rate the experience up against other airlines (Qantas for example)?

I'd rate them a bit above Qantas.

I flew with them back in 2010 and I thought they were decent. I remember there was a good in-flight entertainment system.

I've done between 75 and 100 flights on Air Canada, including TPAC, but never on the Dreamliner and never in PE. Their B777 business was very good.

In my mind they have exactly the same 'profile' and issues as Qantas - a legacy airline and you get good crews and bad crews; tasty meals and bland ones. Head to head I'd choose an AC B787 over the QF 747 (seasonal) by a small margin.

If its a good price, you made the right decision. A Trip Report on the flight would be appreciated :)

Are you on AC or other domestic flight after you arrive in YVR?

I have 6-10 flights with AC, always in J, never had any issues.

Always had positive experiences with crew and food, especially the short 1hr flights

I find the fleet is run down and very average IFE, saying that they are replacing their fleet, so can only get better

Dont join their rewards program it is a dog

Have done Toronto(YYZ) to Chicago (ORD). No complaints, pretty good crew and food.

Ill take a few pics and do a trip report for anyone thats interested.
We do have a connecting flight to Victoria on Air Canada as well as part of the same booking.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
