Group Discount?

14-16 of us are flying to London, most will fly out and return on same dates, with a handful either leaving earlier or returning later.

Do any of the airlines offer discounted flights for a group, or do you need a good 20 or so, and all on the same flight for it to be worthwhile? Sadly due to the amount of us heading over it will be in Y.

Some have QF status, some DJ/VA.

The minimum you need for a group fare differs between the airlines, however as a rule rather than being discounted due to being a group, the fare is often times higher than the lowest bucket economy fare available.

There's a number of reasons for this, the fares are more flexible (names dont need to be advised until much closer to the date and depending on min. number requirements you can drop someone off if they back out).

Generally you'll struggle to get 10+ seats on any one flight on the lowest fare bucket which is why alot of the time people find using group fares alot less stressful.

To be honest, I wouldn't waste my time with QF, their group fares tends to be ridiculous compared to others.

I do a bit of group travel for schools, sporting and corporate groups and tend to use SQ 90% of the time followed by MH and EK.

My wife and I got married in Las Vegas August last year and we found qantas group booking to be less than helpful lol. There were 20 of us flying out the same day and qantas really did not seem interested at all.
