Flew BNE - CNS on Wednesday afternoon, and because the flight was pretty much booked out, 8 of us got bumped up to business! So full J service except for the meal. Shout out to Dee, she was fantastic.

Background: I had completed OLCI a day or two ago, and got 3D (aisle), but when it was time to board, I checked the boarding pass on my phone to be 2D instead.

FA: 'Welcome to business class'
Me: 'I think there's something wrong..'
FA: *explains*

Well, little experiences like these will encourage me to continue flying Virgin

(I have to be honest - the flight was delayed by more than half an hour, but thanks to the pilot's efforts we arrived less than half an hour late.)

I'm curious was that Passbook on iPhone and did it update the boarding pass without making a notification on your phone?

EDIT: I saw from seat 3C once that a group of three were upgraded purely to provide training opportunity for cabin crew as otherwise J would have been empty. That was an ADL-PER flight.

No, I have an Android phone and it was just the website link from the SMS they send you.

Oh nice, lucky them.
