Hi folks

Hope we're all doing well, I know I'm quite sleepy at the moment considering a massive exec lunch:p

Anyway my partner and I are travelling together in June and she doesn't have any status with Virgin. I am a current silver but will be gold when we fly.

I was looking at the Gold membership perks on the website however I didn't see the details that say that she can also have the priority check in and boarding and then also seating.

I know I can guest her in the lounge but it was more about priority boarding and seating and how this works.

Could others who know how this works please advise?

If I've misread something on the Virgin website I blame the Ron Zacapa :D

Thank you!!

hmmm Gold-member, it sounds quite villainous!

I recently flew with 2 non-status friends, on the same booking. I'm gold, but we were all allowed to use the priority check-in counters (all our luggage was priority tagged), priority security and priority boarding to row 3. I checked with the rep manning the priority check-in line first - she said it was fine as we were all on the same reservation.

I've had no problems when travelling on the same PNR for my guest/s to also use priority boarding, check in, as well as express pass cards. Depending on which route you're flying in, domestically I'm usually in Row 3 or 4 when on a saver fare and so are my travelling party. Virgin have also been gracious enough to allow me more than 1 guest into the lounge on numerous occasions.

Pretty sure if on the same reservation, you go as a pair, I always do on QF.

I had no issue on virgin using priority checkin and boarding when flying with someone with no status.

My experience has been the same, even as the status holder with two non-status non-blood-relatives. If you're on the same PNR, then you're processed as a 'group', priority check-in, tagging etc. Also as status holder with three non-status family on the same PNR.

I saw the official response from last year and have found it:

Well then I'll confirm that it would be more than fine for a Gold member to take their family through Priority Check-in, Priority Screening and Priority Boarding.

Proviso being that you were with them, and you went through each process at the same time.

I just purchased tickets for 10 friends for my GF surprise Birthday Party. I was going to take them on Priority tour!

I can confirm this works. We had a party of 12 in March from Mel to Lax all on same PNR, with only 1 member having Gold Status...indeed everyone got the priority check in, boarding and express cards as well as luggage, so really fantastic!
