QF global sale on. The fares aren't particularly spectacular (but as highlighted in another thread, there's some very good Y+ fares to Spain for May (EDIT with BA not QF).
what caught my eye was what they say 5 million points is nominally worth. I think for most AFFers, we'd think that they're worth a lot more than
$94,605!!!

"Prize: 1x 5,000,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points. Maximum notional value approximately AU$94,605 based on a sample of Awards available through the Qantas Frequent Flyer program at 24/10/12."

For a start I'd be looking for 240k JASAs for me and family (ie X5) for next year(3 little stoopids haven't travelled much) then do it again the following year!

first one, with Sri Lankan, Qatar and possibly code share with Emirates could go via CMB, SEZ, AMM DOH/DXB, GRU, SCL MPN, SCL explore S America bit more, then home via SCL.

but with 5 million, the world's your mollusc!

I got an email that suggested I needed to use points + pay on an international flight and the points/pay looked appalling compared to a JASA.

Would love 5 million points though! They'd all be used on JASA's and FASA's.

One entry permitted per passenger per Eligible Booking

This is in the T+C's of the competition, does that mean if I have 2 pax under the one PNR does that mean I can only enter once?

I would say that you can enter and your travelling companion can as well. That is with the emphasis on the one entry per passenger.

Ration my points out so I can qualify WP for as long as possible without having to pay a single cent.

I am wondering if YASAs count QF22 and or QF19.

QF19 is ex-SYD so it does. QF22 ex-NRT doesn't as it doesn't depart from Australia. This is assuming you are referring to 2 separate one-way bookings.

See here:
5 Million Frequent Flyer Points Competition Terms and Conditions | Qantas

7) To enter, Eligible Entrants must during the Promotion Period:
a) make an international Qantas booking:

iii. that is paid for and ticketed; and
iv. that is issued in Australia;
(Eligible Booking), excluding Qantas Frequent Flyer Classic Award bookings;
b) be booked to travel on a child or adult ticket for the entire journey (persons booked to travel on an infant ticket for part or all of the journey are not eligible to enter); and

Looking to book Brisbane-Europe (whatever’s cheapest Frankfurt?)-London-Chicago-Dallas Fort-Worth-Brisbane in late March and returning mid-May (2013) in Economy for two people.
Travelling through Europe in April (first stop Venice-Prague-Dresden-Rome and back to London). Then travelling through USA (first stop Chicago-Boston-New Orleans and Dallas then home to Brisbane).
Ready to book and pay so thought I would take advantage of Global sale & 5 Million points Comp.
Currently have 256K FF points so would like to use these to upgrade flights where possible.
Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated.
