Getting HH Gold before stays are completed

I've signed up for the MVP fast track and am on the way to HH Gold.

I recall reading a post somewhere in these forums from an AFF'er who had successfully asked HH to upgrade their status to Gold based on forward bookings, even though the stays hadn't actually been completed.

Cant find that post, but very keen to know if this can be done and if so how to do it.

I have three more stays required and will happily book the final two as non refundable reservations if that helps the cause.

I do not recall the thread to which you refer.

May I suggest that the best option may be to do the Advance Purchase IF you are really going to do the stay then ring HHonors and ask the question.
If you do not get the answer you want then I would ask a second time as frequently the people on the phone give different stories.

Should clarify that yes the stays are part of my travel plans anyway, and the fast track to gold is a bonus. I'm not booking stays just to get the HH status.

In my experience this was not the case. I had to wait until after the stays had been completed before receiving the bump up to gold.

That may have been me. I emailed them once I'd made my bookings and asked them to consider early upgrade. None of the stays were AP, but they agreed anyway ... I certainly appreciated the status upgrades in Europe!!

Too late for me to try and emulate the feat, I've completed my 4 stays and am HH Gold. Looking forward to trying it out in ADL this week.

Apologies for not having found your original query in August! That'll teach me to keep a closer eye on the forum! Enjoy gold ... the ADL Hilton is a stunner - great time there earlier this year with the Ozfest crew

Early upgrades may be possible as a form of Tier match as well as part of a challenge to get Diamond I believe based on reports at FT:
