Does anyone have experience or recommendations ,I have a BA flight booked in J from JFK - LGW with a 3 hour transfer time on arrival with a connecting flight LHR-MAN ,looking at what the best transfer options are?

Thanks

National Express runs a regular coach service - I have used it a few times. However - 3 hour transit is really really tight. The M25 (motorway) between the M23 (from Gatwick) and Heathrow is usually a car park many times of the day and night. Throw into that delays in immigration/baggage reclaim and the stress will be very high.

National Express is the go.

Pricey - around 25 pounds from memory.

3 hours will be tight. I'd want at least 4. I'd have concerns about your ability to make it in time. If anything goes wrong or is slow at immigration/baggage you'll be in trouble with just 3 hours.

Have a look here for details:

Note that it says 3 hours is the minimum but not recommended.

It is a redemption booking and the only flights that I could book , both flights are on the one ticket if that makes any difference.
I might call again tomorrow to see if they can force a later connection.

25GBP is about right for the bus. Had to do this in July from LHR to LGW and it took about an hour. Wasn't connecting but we had to do the transfer because of a BA irrops on our FCO-LGW; we ended up on the FCO-LHR and our rental car was at the long term car park at LGW.

I'll concur that 3 hours may be tight.

How'd you get on Rallo?

I ended up cancelling and replacing the original award booking with a booking on BA allowing for a 5 hour connection.
BA were adamant that 3 hours was adequate which it is obviously not after reading the replies here and elsewhere on the internet.
Total cost in the end was a a cancellation fee of 24,000 points with Asia Miles.

For peace of mind for connections of this kind in the UK, and for town cars in London generally, I strongly recommend Addison Lee. They're not cheap, but you *know* that things will work out.

Thanks for the recommendation , you usually get what you pay for so i dont mind paying extra.
