Garuda Indonesia (SkyTeam) appears to be offering a status match ("tier matching") for QFF Gold and Platinum members into Garuda's own GarudaMiles Gold and Platinum respectively. Apply by emailing them at [email protected] with your QFF card, GarudaMiles (virtual) card and mileage transaction history. Once approved, the status is valid for 3 months, and can be extended an extra 9 months provided the member flies Garuda from Australia to or through Indonesia within the 3 months (one way or return).

I don't really see the value of GA Gold, given they never had int'l lounge access (only Platinum / SkyTeam Elite Plus qualify), and long before COVID scrapped even domestic lounge access, though priority boarding and extra luggage might be useful in a pinch, so would be beneficial to register if you already have a GA booking coming.

Platinum might be worth going out of your way to book GA instead of QF/JQ to DPS/CGK. Gives SkyTeam Elite Plus for 1 year with lounge access and priority baggage.

Seems like a reasonable status match but all that valuable. Many of will already have top tier Sky Team status through the ITA Airways status match a couple of years ago. We can even extend our status by gifting it to someone else (yourself with another account).

I have gifted status to my brother - yet the offer is still showing up on my account.
Have you tried to give it to a second person ?
I'd like to 'gift it' to myself again!

I already have Gold with KQ Asante but AZ is now finally integrated with almost all ST airlines - only AF/KL for Asante.

Not yet, but I do plan to do so.

I'm pretty sure this is simply a matter of creating another ITA account with your own details without duplicating unique identifiers so that the accounts don't overlap (eg. email address/contact number etc).

Got a status match to Platinum. Took all of 3 working days.

I'm QF Plat and requested the status match on 19th January, but yet to receive the status match or any further correspondence.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Received mine after prompting them, they said Jakarta office had to make the decision, so flew syd-dps to extend it once received. Strang situation at check in, they would not give me a forward seat in the first Y cabin but on the plane it was emty as they put all pax to back of the aircraft, said something about balancing the aircraft at check in, but they let us move forward - only 1/3 full two hours late.
