It appears I will heading to Friedrichshafen Germany for a trade event late Aug this year.

Any of you good AFF people had any experience in this area?

Am particularly interested in securing decent accommodation that has restaurants / food / nightlife nearby as opposed to choosing some rat hole in the boonies.

Any assistance / advice greatly appreciated.

(Mods – Typo in title if you wouldn’t mind fixing?)

Friedrichshafen is close to Frankfurt. I have only ever visited from either Frankfurt or when staying at Bad Homberg. Both were easy commutes. So can't help with accommodation in Friedrichshafen. But there are lots of good places in down-town Frankfurt that would likely be suitable. If you don't find anywhere, let me know and I will ask a work colleague who is works in Friedrichshafen (previously was based on Bad Homberg office) and lives in Frankfurt for his suggestions.

Are we talking about the Friedrichshafen Germany that is on the shores of Lake Constance, 400km south of Frankfurt?

We drove through it late Nov 2011.

The Zeppelin Museum is really good, we also did a little bit of shopping.

But it had the feel of a small town (58,000 people) so I would sort out my accommodation sooner rather than later.

They have an outstanding Men's Volleyball team if you get a chance to catch a match.(really!)

Friedrichshafen is close to Frankfurt.
But not quite close enough to commute daily. Thanks so much for responding NM - I understand I will prolly not get anything suitable in Friedrichshafen itself but happy to stay anywhere within reasonable daily commute that will offer something to do after hours. FTR - MEL-SIN (Suite) / SIN-MUS (F) F Saver - ret FRA-SIN (Suite) / SIN-MEL (Suite) F Saver.

Yes that's the one - not that well known it seems so info a bit thin on the ground.
