I'm quite surprised it is one of the Azamara ships offering this as I thought they were pitching themselves towards the mature market (well maybe the mature cruisers out there want a bit of excitement????). Either that or they are going to make a heap out of the charter charge.

Agree re Azmara having this kind of charter.

The cruise following ours last year was chartered by Atlantis - basically an all male cruise. Similar kind of 'no holds barred' cruise. The crew said it was one big party cruise. The female toilets became male ones.

Now you are getting graphic. Perhaps the next pax should take one of those CSI special blue light thingos that shows up under certain conditions.

Hopefully, the crew are volunteering and not coerced for these things. There may be certain religious problems and as many of the crew come from devout countries it could get difficult for them.

Yes, I just think it is tacky and fraught with danger. I have heard of these types of cruises before but never with a ship that I know.
I agree that the crew members are placed in an awkward position.

Yes, but maybe it was just called, 'going on a cruise' in those days, until a high profile case or 2 when women were very sadly murdered as they were terribly treated by some of the men on board.

Yes, I have heard of them before but never on a cruise ship that I know.
It's quite weird as Azamara has positioned itself as a rather upscale line (perhaps just a step below Silversea or Seabourn) with a semi-all inclusive offering of wines with dinner, gratuities included etc. They are also on the smaller side (600+ pax) and so can get into the smaller ports and have scheduled quite a few overnights in some ports. It just seems quite out of character so to speak. Either they are not doing very well or they have been offered such a large amount for the charter they could not turn it down.

I did a bit of digging an apparently Azamara has had these kinds of charters before. The optional clothing areas are quite restricted and passengers have to sit on a towel etc if choosing to go 'au naturelle'. Not allowed to dine naked.
I do wonder about the sensual cabin decorations though and those playrooms.
Still doesn't appeal!
