Hardly ever snows in Cooma

So you get to Cooma, then you would have to pay through the nose for a road shuttle. Unless you are staying in the resorts you will need a car if staying in Jindy.

Still better to fly SYD-CBR and hire a vehicle from CBR or leave your vehicle at CBR for those weekend warriors who go down on Fri evening and return Sun evening.

Interestingly, this is no more expensive than flying SYD-CBR (outside of special sales).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I reckon cheaper because car hire in CBR for Fri-Sun would be cheaper than the exorbitant shuttle ride from Cooma to Jindy or resorts plus you have a car for the weekend.

Also higher frequency of flights in CBR with VA and QF

For more than 1 pax cheaper to drive.

Hertz is now based in Cooma so I imagine they will move some cars to the airport (like Thrifty used to do).

If you are staying in Perisher, Charlotte Pass or Thredbo it seems to me that a shuttle is the obvious choice for transport.

Hertz in Cooma downtown only. 16km north of Cooma - Snowy Mountains Airport. And the cars there are very expensive and that's before opening a satellite at the airport. I suspect they may provide a ride to the office. There is nothing else at Cooma airport and parking is free!!! If you are game to leave a car there between Sunday and Friday.

Having grown up in the region (about 15 minutes from OOM), I can tell you that this is fantastic news for locals getting to SYD.

That said, for me to visit home from MEL, I'll keep flying VA to CBR.
