Good morning,
My husband have a Flybuys card where I am an additional card holder. This account has been linked to my Velocity and points transferred to that one.

I am now wondering, can I start my own Flybuys account and link his Velocity to that one to transfer points?
The reason being we will be hitting the transfer point limit due to some sign up bonuses and we cant transfer much more Flybuys points.

Or should I start my own card, cancel the link between his card and my Velocity, and instead add his own. Then and add my own Velocity to the new card in my name? Is this even possible?

Messy question, I know but its pre coffee :D

Start your own flybuys account. In the long run you will get more flybuys points by having a separate account for each adult member of the family.

This thread may answer your questions about the points transfers to Velocity. There is also a similar thread in the Velocity sub forum.

People have mentioned issues regarding the name of the flybuys account and the name of the Velocity account. Good luck. There are Flybuys reps and Velocity reps who have posted on these threads as well.

The names have to match to transfer
Thoroughly agree to have separate accounts-all sorts of advantages for points accumulation

In short, does lower average spend result in more points offered / lower spend thresholds? is there something else?

The less you spend, the lower spend is required when there are bonus points offers. We have spent a bit lately and the minimum spend for the bonuses have gone from about $40 up to $95. Think we need separate accounts and do spending on one and then the other.

Thank you for the links and help folks :)
