Hi all,

Someone on here recommended Air Canada to fly in Canada because 1. Good flights 2. SQ points rewarded.
Making sure to get on AC flights and not codeshare Delta?

Are there better(safety first) options?

Looking VAN to TORONTO to Montreal($140CA) to Boston

Why is it $330CA from Montreal to Boston when 1hr15min flight?

What is JAZZ Air Canada about?

AC is a good airline IMHO... Decent cabins, seat back IFE, decent lounges if *G (or pay for single use).

Much like QF - on special it's a good price, otherwise it's a ripoff.

Westjet is a decent alternative (much like DJ or JQ is to QF when in whY).

YVR to YYZ I would definitely choose AC, it's a long flight.

Air Canada is an ok airline. As mentioned it's comparable to QF Y. The cabins are fine and reasonable modern. The kicker is that they do not offer a complimentary meal service, but that is true for any transcontinental flight in Canada.

Air Canada JAZZ is their regional airline, flying the east coast mainly as a competitor to Jetblue and Porter (who are really great and fly out of the Toronto City Airport (YTO)- much more accessible).

You can generally grab a Y fare on Air Canada for around $110 from YYZ to BOS. It should be the same through Montreal.

Peak travel time.....

Of year as same price all day.

Yep unfortunately.

Like QF - AC can be expensive.

Try flying from one of the smaller airports or not limiting yourself to AC for the short routes like that.

AC is a decent airline. I quite like them for the hops I've done in Canada. WS is much like the DJ of 18 months ago. An LCC+ but without ambitions of taking on the premium market.

You should have no safety problems with AC, customer service is generally okay but like all North American carriers everything is BOB in Y, meals are pretty good in J.

Jazz is no longer the correct term. It is now Air Canada Express with several affiliates operating those flights (a la QantasLink). Jazz is the main one operating all CRJ, Dash and Beech aircraft. They are seen mostly on smaller routes like PDX-YVR, YVR-YYJ and YYZ-YQB as well as some transborder stuff. Another is Sky Regional which operate the AC flights between YTZ and YUL.

As you have noted, they are expensive. They have no particularly cheap domestic competition to drive down prices and a captive audience. Transborder is little better with most markets being quite thin and thus there isn't a lot of room for competition. On your YUL-BOS hop it may be worth looking at a connection with someone like PD through YTZ.

Is PD= PORTER?
I found $197 :) but very early flight and WHO WITH?
Oh this is Budget Flyby holiday trip so long as not LAOS AIR or over there Hudson River connecting flight I'm sweet!

Yep, PD is Porter. They offer a very good service. The terminal in YTZ is more lounge than terminal, comfy Dash Q400 aircraft and complimentary food and bev on board.

i dont mind AC but refer Westjet.... less frills but always on time and good old fashion cabin hospitality/service
