Before I go and ask Velocity about this issue I'd like the combined wisdom of the AFF community to make sure I didn't overlook anything...

Since Oct 2011 I have accumulated 970 SC. I was a lowely Red in Oct 2011, and am now Gold. According to my calculations, I should be a lot closer to requalifying for Gold than 180 SC which is my current balance towards Gold requal. In fact, I think I should have requalified last week.

I qualified for Gold on February 1st. On March 9th, 3 flights totalling 240 SC were credited for flights flown on Dec 25th, 2011. I then flew another 180 SCs worth in the recent weeks. Total, I would have thought, 240+180=420 SC. Only the last 180 SCs are calculated towards my requal.

Have gone through the T&Cs but I don't see anything that appears to be relevant to this situation. As I see it, either the 240 SCs should count towards my requal for Gold, given that review is based on the dates posted, not on the dates flown; or my review date should be adjusted to January 16th (when I first hit 500 SCs, including the Christmas day flights which were credited late), and then all the flights since then should have been counted, which is 460 SC... even better :)

Either way, more than the 400 needed to requal, I thought. Your thoughts?

You shouldn't lose SCs unless your review date passes which I don't think it can the way you've described it. Theoretically, your review date is reset every time you elevate a status level, which would have been when you attained silver and then again when you attained gold, but those 970 SCs accumulated since 10/2011 should still be showing in your Velocity account balance....in fact you should be just 30 SCs short of platinum.

It seems to me like the 240 SCs not showing in your gold requal, is a stuff up with dates on the airlines part (I'm assuming these were from a code share int flight). Your gold qual came after those SCs were earned, but had they posted promptly, you would have had gold earlier meaning the later SCs that earned you gold in Feb, would have gone to requal gold......so all in all a mix up DJ would most likely correct, but do you really need them to do that? Like you only need 30SCs before 10/2012 and you'll be platinum, so is there really an issue there? Those 240 SCs still count toward platinum qualification.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Call up velocity and talk to them.
Keep trying until you get an agent which understands what you are saying, and doesn't regurgitate how status credits work by reading it off the from site with no idea what you are actually asking.

Took me a while but I got my 150SC's (from EY which credited late) finally recognized. They said that call back just before my re qualification date and if I have more than 250 SC's they will manually re qualify me for gold.

I'm with swanning_it, 30 SC and your platinum and your date resets anyway. So I don't see the issue.

If some of your flights were on codeshares they may be booking classes which do not earn SC's

Hi Swanning_it, thanks for pointing this out - I hadn't realised that because of being platinum, I would be gold for another year if I didn't requalify for platinum. So will make sure to fly those 30 SC sometime - I am actually a very irregular flyer - the last few months were a little unusual, although - who knows?
