Hi

Booked a US domestic flight through AA website, so the flight has a AA flight number but flight is operated by US Airways.
Vegas to Phoenix (1st Leg) in transit at Phoenix for 1 hr, then Phoenix to Palm springs (2nd leg) Booked under the same PNR.

As the flight is for my son, he is wondering which Airline desk he goes to check-in AA or US ?
Also, as the flights are on the same PNR, will he get both boarding passes at the 1st check-in desk. ?

Lastly, as online check-in is available 24hrs prior to departure and as he won't have any access to print his boarding pass while overseas, Can I do online check-in for him here (within 24 hr period before departure) and he then just goes to the check-in desk to get his boarding pass reprinted and to also hand in his checked luggage.

The reason I thought of online checkin is that I've heard stories of airlines overselling seats so if you turn up at normal time/2 hours before boarding to check in you may miss out on your seat due to overselling, , but if online check-in has been done... all should be good in a seat on that flight.

Look forward to all replies, so I can pass the info onto my son. It's his first overseas flight alone so I'm trying to provide as much info as possible to avoid receiving a ' Help..What will I do' phone call .

Check in will be with US. They should print both boarding passes in LAS.

thanks for your reply.

In relation to my 2nd question. IF I do online check-in for him here, does he just go to the US Airways checkin desk to hand in his luggage and get his boarding passes reprinted ??

I reckon that should work. But it's been a couple years since I was over there last.

Can he check in on-line with a smartphone and get an electronic BP?

That sounds good in theory, but it's whether he remembers to do that in between his partying in Vegas and boarding the flight. Reprinting of the BP with the check-in agent would probably be his preference if that option is available.
