'Fleshmob' strips off to protest body scans

German protesters have demonstrated against the planned introduction of body scanners at airports by stripping down to their underwear and, in some cases, beyond.

The group of protesters, calling itself a 'Fleshmob', converged on Germany's Berlin-Tegel airport this week, writing messages on their bodies and handing out leaflets voicing their concerns about the new scanners' invasion of privacy.

Am I the only one who saw the irony of protesting against the full body scanners, because they can reveal quite a bit, by wandering around an airport naked?

It does seem a little silly, if they were that concerned about privacy of their body, they surely shouldn’t have done that, and now, the scanners aren’t so bad after all

I'm with the Germans.

I can do with out an extra dose of full body radiation each time I catch a plane.

I also don't like the huge amount of money that will be spent installing them.

I'm also thinking that it will also bottle neck security checkpoints.

But they're not protesting against the equipment because of the above, but because it may provide rather revealing pictures (hence the irony of their method of protesting).

I certainly think you raise some valid points though. Perhaps if the americans, or whoever who runs that "no fly" list, actually did their job properly, then we wouldn't need more security theatre.

Provided you find enough QP members to guest them in, then no I don't see a problem...

The question remains however would you be willing to give up QP for that trip if they can't get in???

Provided that those protestors are built like super models in "approprite protesting clothing or lack of", I am more than willing to give up QP and watch them protesting. Besides, what's stopping me in guesting at least 1 of the protestors (provided SHE has a QA/JQ boarding pass).

Jokes aside, I have no problem with full body scanners provided that they works in keeping flights safe.

Note: I think Female FA should join in the protest... WHO's with ME!! Vote 1 for Singapore Girls in that "protesting dress code".

I have had many comments from my male friends about my cousin being very attractive and then the next question is along the lines of 'so is she single?' And then they find out she is an SQ FA, their interest seems to spike once more!
