Who can find the most expensive (i.e. most number of points) for an Anytime award on the new QFF system? Lets keep it to a return journey, starting in one of the Australian capital cities, and a maximum of 2 connections in each direction without stopovers enroute.

So far edison has posted an F award SYD-LAX-MEX as 2,256.404. Not sure if that was return of one-way.

Would be nice to compare each one with the Classic Award points required for the same routing.

That was return trip, going on 24th Dec 2008 and coming back on 7th Jan 2009 ..... Still mind boggling that it would cost more than 2 millions points ......

Indeed! Which is what prompted me to start this thread .... and so far your route is wining .

Amazingly a straight SYD-LHR-SYD in F in the next two weeks is only 1.7Million points

PER-SYD-LAX-MEX on same dates (in First) is 2,453,167 points. :D

MAN-HEL-BKK J one way with "Classic" 92,000

Same flight with "any seat" 828,000

Oh dear.

How on earth are they doing that on anyseat? None of that is QF metal - does this imply QF codeshares might be available for any seat?

Well for those that are well endowed with points this does actually create some new opportunities...

Per-Asp this Friday for 203,000 points..

Umm a normal award is like 16,000 +++

I've found a good one:
Dec 15 ADL-SYD-LAX-PDX
Dec 26 PDX-LAX-SYD-ADL
2,406,906 in F

I can get just under a million points required for a red-e-deal ADL-MIA.
The same in F is only just over 2 mill.

Wonder which is better?

BME-MEX is 2,146,045 odd points in J. F is not offered.

An interesting news story tonight, on channel 7 and mentioning this particular routing for using the maximum miles.

Not sure why they didn't quote the PER-SYD-LAX-MEX one.

I can see the program being tweaked a bit unless some people are stupid enough to burn 2,400,000 points.

Surely those with a few million points wouldn't be so stupid to burn points like that... But then again common sense isn't that common anymore is it?

I think it is unlikely anyone will redeem per-syd-lax-mex rtn and it will take more time to work out the kinks of what this means.

Mind you if you have 4-5million points why not use them - they are doing nothing for you now...

2,464,564 points.

Dec 1 ADL-MEL-LAX-DFW (F)
Dec 10 DFW-LAX-SYD-ADL (F)
