Hi everyone,

Firstly I wanted to know if it's possible to upgrade on international AA, if the ticket was purchased through Qantas using QF miles?

Secondly, which would be the best choice from below, Sydney to NYC :

Using only QF points: American 72/73 (and get domestic flights later), and hopefully upgrading to MCE (curse of being tall, I've flown in PE before and I'm scared to ever go back to coach lol)

Paying cash and not touching the points: VA have a big sale at the moment, it's currently about AU2400 for PE return all the way to and from JFK, and I've flown with them before and loved it.

Or for something different, Singapore Syd-Sin-Ewr for about AU3000. Obviously much further flight though.

Not really interested in Qantas at this stage.

TIA

No you can't upgrade on AA with QF points. So buying PE seems the way to go.

AA milesAAver awards (which basically is the same as one using QFF points) can't be upgraded with cash.
AA is now one of the worst programs IMHO.

Sorry I haven't flown on the VA 777 or AA 787 and only F on the SQ 380.

You can pay for seating in MCE with a QF award flying AA. On the seat selection map you can select the seat you want, but it's not always cheap.
