Just as the title says.. flying EY and planning to bid for Y->J,

EY Guest T&Cs suggest tier points awarded in higher class in this scenario although points earn is in original class

Wondering if this applies to VFF also in anyone's experience?

An extra 100 SC would be nice, it's hard starting over (again) :)

I flew F on EY in 2012 care of a Plusgrade upgrade from J, and just checking now I earned points the higher discount F rate instead of the J rate. Can't be too sure on SC as VA's J & F SC rates are one and the same. Hopefully someone has a more recent experience that can clear things up.

You get the original class + 10%. Sometimes the system gremlins can work in your favour.

Etihad Select Upgrade

Will I earn Etihad Guest Miles for an Etihad Select Upgrade?
Yes, you will earn Etihad Guest Miles for the upgrade. You will earn the base miles (as per the flown distance) plus a 10% additional bonus for the relevant cabin upgrade. Only Etihad Guest members are eligible for bonus miles. Gold Elite, Gold and Silver members will continue to earn the Tier Bonus which is always calculated on the base miles earned, hence the upgrade does not affect the number of miles awarded. Tier Miles & Segments will be earned as per the upgraded cabin.
