Based on recent discussions, apparently for rewards stays, it is IHG policy that there is no obligation for IHG properties to grant any elite member privileges. Fortunately however, many other IHG properties do indeed offer these benefits.
Which hotels do you know of that are generous, and which ones are stingy?

I know that the Holiday Inn Macau is strictly sticking to the no benefits for rewards stays.

I've just noticed the 'new' IHG website.

Note, the updated T&Cs ...

They now state their right to apply the RA / AMB benefits as they see fit.

I think this may mean, Sydney IC can do what ever they want ?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Absolutely appalling. Next they'll probably advertise the world, but in the fine print they'll say 'blah blah blah except this....excludes this....doesn't include this.....to our discretion....may be withdrawn at anytime...."

Try the Crown Plaza Lumpini Park in Bangkok. The service is embarrassing. Take you up to a "lounge" check in ( away from the lesser mortals), club floor, free drink on arrival. well stocked Club lounge with happy hour from 6 - 8 ( I think) and non stop food PLUS incredibly friendly obliging staff.
we are going back there they really recognise PCR Platinum and make you feel like you are someone.
we had an issue in the room with WIFI not workin in the room but out in the corridor. We ended up with 3 peoople attending to it. The Manager, The IT man and on of the floor staff. Very impressive service

I got that type of check in as a Gold. The Thais really know how to do service.

At the Crowne Plaza Lumpini Park there was a maid who was barefoot every time I saw her.

One way to demonstrate how clean the carpet is.

That's excellent and really a good example of how IHG should be conducting themselves, unlike other stingy properties. How many reward nights did u stay?

We had 2 stays there between going to Koh Samui

First stay - 1 night, 2nd stay 3 nights. Staff incredible, remembered our names, gave us tips on how NOT to get ripped off etc, etc. We loved Thailand. Very Happy Ending METAPHORICALLY speaking !

I've stayed at the Crowne Plaza Lumpini Park, it has the best coffee in Asia that I have ever consumed! Would love to go back there when I have some spare time.

And as a Priority Club gold until the end of the year, I have just had two separate nights at the Crowne Plaza Alice Springs. Upgraded both nights, first to a mountain room, second time to a suite (from a $100 basic room) and a bottle of wine was provided as well.

Was a good way to spend a night whilst doing my DSC JASAs.

I thought an upgrade at Alice would be one where you can lock the door :)

It's quite heartening many properties who do offer upgrades. Shame on the Holiday Inn Macau!

Funnily enough the safe wasn't working. The previous guest had locked it whilst open.

It was an enjoyable stay and if I was going to stay overnight in ASP I would stay there again.
