Excess baggage

Been told by a friend over East that excess charges are going up significantly next week. Almost doubling was the quote. Admittedly they've steered me wrong before, though...

Tomorrow's results take on a new dimension of expectation if it is true...

Had another friend ask a VA staff member today and they confirmed rates will be going up, though were unable to give specifics. Late next week is the word on timing. Will try and find out actual new rates over the next few days...

The overweight bag fee for domestic flights is now $70 as per the VA website Checked baggage allowance | Virgin Australia

Strange one, why didn't they just make it $70 from the start...

On a domestic level the VA charges are now absolutely exhorbitant comapred to QF.
