I have to admit since being gifted Epiqure membership at the P1 lunch in Sydney (although no free bottles of wine, unlike the hundreds/thousands of people who were gifted it due to the grounding), that I have found no real value in the membership. None of the events seem to be located in Brisbane, and the wine, whilst no doubt eminently drinkable, is also rather expensive.
Until today that is.
Enter the 2010 Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz, $149.94 for 6 bottles (that's $24.99 each).
This stuff costs $28 a bottle at Dan Murphy's, $30-$40 in other bottle shops, and $76 a bottle!!! at Rockpool in Sydney, where is was served as the Shiraz of choice during the P1 lunch (and very much enjoyed by all). So by ordering from Epiqure I save $18 , get free delivery and a bonus 449 QFF points.
Needless to say I've ordered a half case, and I'm seriously considering a second
