I have to admit since being gifted Epiqure membership at the P1 lunch in Sydney (although no free bottles of wine, unlike the hundreds/thousands of people who were gifted it due to the grounding), that I have found no real value in the membership. None of the events seem to be located in Brisbane, and the wine, whilst no doubt eminently drinkable, is also rather expensive.

Until today that is.

Enter the 2010 Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz, $149.94 for 6 bottles (that's $24.99 each).

This stuff costs $28 a bottle at Dan Murphy's, $30-$40 in other bottle shops, and $76 a bottle!!! at Rockpool in Sydney, where is was served as the Shiraz of choice during the P1 lunch (and very much enjoyed by all). So by ordering from Epiqure I save $18 :), get free delivery and a bonus 449 QFF points.

Needless to say I've ordered a half case, and I'm seriously considering a second

I ordered the premium 6 pack just before Xmas, it had 2 bottle RWT, 2 WB Black and 2 St.Henri for $480

This is actually very good value if you like to cellar a small quantity of top notch stuff for special occasions as they sell for $140, $100 and $80 respectively (unless you can get on Penfolds friends and family list where RWT sells for$70).......

Snapped that one up myself as soon as the email hit the inbox ;)
Also got the "Almost Burgundy" pack which had a good selection.

Well based on the views here I went and grabbed some of that too. I have been looking at the products on offer (and their prices) and never thought I would get to avail myself of anything.

Thanks for the heads up..............not long till "bottoms up ";)

+1for me.

I bought 2 dozen bottles as I enjoy this wine quite a lot.

A couple of years ago, Ben and I ended up having a few scotches after a winemaker dinner. He's a terrific bloke and a great winemaker to boot.

Did anyone receive free bottles from the P1 lunch? I remember there being talk about it...

Considering you will be P1 in a few months because of the lunch (and wanting to be super cool) I would have thought there'd be plenty of free swag being sent to everyone who was there?

Probably drank the free bottle during lunch in most cases, throw in the food and flights for most and I think the winners are still well ahead of those that got free membership for being inconvenienced.

Not complaining here ;)

You mean the TWE Staff site... unfortunately the good stuff only comes up very occasionally.
As for the Qantas Glataetzer deal... looks good, I have a few bottle of Amon Ra cellaring away.

Thanks for the reminder about this wine, saw it yesterday and then got distracted and forgot. Order now placed. My first purchase after receiving the comp membership.

So it seems this was a popular purchase, only 2 bottles left from the order. I've been told by SWMBO that I need to order some more

Did anyone here manage to pick up the Glaetzer Bishop Shiraz 2010 for $15.99 a bottle today?
I received the email at 11am today, but it's already sold out (8.30pm).

Yep. Clicked straight away. Is it even a good price? Just had another vintage in the past.

EDIT: the Knappstein .... however that's what DeKa meant anyway.

I got the offer this afternoon and snapped it up straight away as we needed some red. Clearly got to have your wits about you with EpiQueer!

Penfolds day at epiQure today .. snapped up the 2008 Bin 28 for the same price as the 2009 at Dan Murphy's, plus free delivery and triple points :)
