I would have trouble flying with [them] out of Mel after the last potential disaster when they all got the computerised weight wrong.

I have flown a number of sectors with them over the last few years and not that impressed. [redacted]irrelevant

MH have some very good specials going as well.

100% Agree. We did a Mel - Sin last easter we did not get a drink until after
the dinner service, Not even a drink with the meal !!

I dont think i would fly them again just letting people who would know :)

Conversely I find Emirates a very good airline and choose them ahead of airlines such as QF/BA and have nicer lounges generally too imo

+1. I agree. Have taken them three times (return) this year between MEL & SIN , my partner the same (at difft times). If we had been precious about taking them we would have either had to pay an extra $100 for each return and fly Jetstar via DRW  or an extra $300 to fly QF, or extra $400 to fly SQ. And between us probably would have then missed out on three upgrades EK gave us (me 1, my partner 2).

I find the crew varies in the level of service they provide, depending on their origin. The variation is no worse, in factor probably less than experienced on QF (at least in the Y cabin) A comment was made above that some cultures were never destined to serve .. this belies a lack of understanding of EK crewing, as their crew often feels like a mini-UN. On my various flights it has included people from Korea, Japan, South Africa, Morocco, Russia, UK, Kenya, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, Eastern Europe, Germany etc, oh and even the UAE(obviously not all in the one flight). Some are not that terrific, others (and I bet you can guess their origins) really shine.

How do you actually book flights after March since the Emirates site only shows these flights up til end of March? DO you have to go through an agent or are we just waiting for Emirates to update their website?

Greetings Boys and Girls,Fares for July keep on changing day to day on this new route.Sometimes cheap ,sometimes nearly full price,This is the same when I ring the call center. Most websites go up and down with them but lastminute had the $600 sub fares this morning when everyone else, including Emirates was $750+ Can anyone explain this and the daily movements up and down? What should loads be like on this route in the first two weeks in July ? Thanks in advance fellow travelers

Sometimes when airlines have sale tickets, they trickle the tickets into the market place. So the best analogy is a can of baked beans on special at the supermarket. Sometimes you walk past and the space is empty - but that's only because other customers have taken all of the ones there and the staff haven't yet refilled the shelf space.

Why Lastminute still was showing the cheaper price could be caused by a couple of things. The most likely is that the website hadn't updated the availability of cheap fares correctly, and had you gone through the booking process it would fail towards the end. The other possibility is that Lastminute can access certain fares that other sites can't access, but I don't think that is particularly likely in this case.
