Seat Guru suggested row 7 seats to be "yellow" being close to the galley & loos.

ABT suggested otherwise, stating that row 7 seats are "the best trio of seats on the plane"

I have not flown EK 777-300 before.

Currently I am in 7D.

What are your thoughts, please ?

PS: I could not spend hours waiting for QF2 (A380) so I had to pick this 777-300

The forward mini cabin is preferable IMO, and by being on the centre aisle you are less likely to be disturbed. On my last long flight with Emirates my husband and I had row 6DEF to ourselves, I found that position to be wonderful, but row 6 is usually blocked off but can be requested upon check-in.

I think you will find that ABT states that the trio of seats (DEF) in row 7 are the next best to those in row 6.

You have chosen well, but keep checking back to see whether row 6 has opened up and request at check-in if it hasn't.

Sorry, I omitted to mention that row 7 does not back directly onto the galley, there is a hanging closet or somesuch in between, which assists in eliminating noise issues.

Good to hear, we have 7JK selected at the moment but I'll keep an eye open if row 6 becomes available

I had these but changed as there is apparently a misaligned window. Anyone have any experience with this?

There is an image if you hover over the seat in the seatmap of the 777-300 on Emirates 777 seat plan - Emirates Boeing 777-300 seating plan, seat map pictures# which may be indicative of what to expect. Unfortunately I have not taken any notice. Also, I guess it would also depend on the timing of your flight as to whether it would be of any consequence. I have usually found the window shades are encouraged to be closed so it wouldn't make a lot of difference once airborne. But can understand it could be a bit off putting.

Row 8 has greater leg room and full windows, if 6 is unavailable . . . but there is just something so peaceful about that mini cabin . . . . .

Likewise, the small cabin in the 747 (rows 11-13) are preferred by many.

Called Emerald City by some, too.

I am yet to sample the famed row 12 in Emerald City.

Row 6 is supposedly a bassinet row so who knows if there will be any baby there.

It won't be fun having a baby for a neighbour on a 13.5 hrs flight.

But then, the odds of having a baby flying in J is far lower than in Y, I'd imagine.

Gosh, the whole of J is so small it would be impossible to not be effected by an unsettled baby, in either J cabin, but even more so the reason the front mini cabin is such a haven, as the rear cabin of J is only marginally away from the front row of bassinets in Y . . . . .
