Elite Gold Status - Velocity Point Transfer

If I transfer point from velocity to krisflyer to that amount of 50 000 elite miles, will that qualify me for elite gold status?

In a word, no.

You only earn elite miles by flying SQ & *A

However, transfer 300k VA pts into KF pts & you'll be able to fly RT somewhere nice in F/R, or a few J flights.
