I am about to book an overseas flight on Singapore Airlines...I am a Velocity Gold member so want the points and SC earn. I am also a SilverKris member (no status and minimal points banked) but I assume I should quote my Velocity number and not the SilverKris one when I do the booking? Sorry if it seems a dumb question, but it's been years since I did an overseas flight booking and back then I didn't have any memberships of any rewards things to consider.

Yes you will earn points and SC with Velocity on SQ - as long as one of the valid booking classes

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

With the trip my wife and I are taking next weekend in PE (BNE-SYD-SIN-LHR / ZUR-SIN-SYD-BNE) and by using family pooling, we should get about 48k VFF points and 860 SC total. With the 30 or so SC's I've already got, that should be enough for me to go Gold on the last leg home. I doubt I'll make Plat by the end of the calendar year but who knows...

So, they certainly add up...

Yes, a few OS trips and gold is quite achievable. Mind that you don't need to make Plat before the EOCY with VA - you probably know this already. Its a rolling year.

I actually find SQ to be the best for racking up decent SC's for minimal $$

When Lady Lenny and I travel for ourselves we buy Economy, but SQ have a fare (Limited Flex or something like that) that is only marginally more expensive than the discount Economy, but is classed as Full Fare by Velocity. That + Family pooling means 1 return trip to Europe essentially guarantees you maintain gold (as long as you do your VA sectors as well)
