Earning miles on EY between Australia and AUH?

The AA website on earning miles says:

    Earn American Airlines AAdvantage Miles With Etihad Airways

    No mention above of trips from South Pacific to Middle East?!?

    Given we can book EY redemption flights between Aus and AUH can someone confirm they have earnt miles from EY fights ex Australia. Just about to book a trip on EY as it cuts down to two stop rather than 3 stop trip but if no points, QF/BA it is...
