Possibly something many of you came across before, but I am a slow learner and have just discovered the following.

For my booking with SQ (Singapore Airlines) where some flights were on SQ and some on LH (Lufthansa) I quoted Velocity FF number.
Only SQ flights earned Velocity AU points.
I subsequently launched a retrospective online claim with LH on remaining LH flights using Miles & More FF number. All LH operated flights were instantly credited with M&M points. Retrospective claims with LH are available up to 6 months after the flight.

Perhaps others have similar experiences with other FF programs where points can be allocated to multiple FF, if not credited in a single one (preferred).

I've done this with a few bookings.

I had a Zuji booking with mixture of MH and QF flights and I knew the MH flights would not earn on QFF so only put MH number for those flights and the rest my QFF number.
