Hi everyone,

I am planning to stop in Singapore for 2 nights in June next year (18th and 19th), before continuing to London.
I will arrive in Changi around 1215am, 18th June.
I was going to book 2 nights with Crowne Plaza Changi. But their reservations told me that i will need
to book for an extra night on the 17th of June(Day before i arrive), as they treat 1215am as a late arrival.

Can i avoid paying for an extra night with Crowne Plaza, by booking a room with Aerotel Transit hotel instead for 6 hours (Check out around 6am ish)
And then try and check in with Crowne Plaza ?

What will you be doing for the 2 days you are in Singapore?

Maybe a transit hotel for 6hrs on arrival and then move to a city hotel in the morning, drop bags & explore Singapore and then back to Changi for your departure.

Hi Denali, i just found out that staying at Aerotel is not good if you have checked luggages. Anyway, i will follow your advice and stay in the city instead. Thank you.

We book an earlier flight to fix that issue. No need to land after midnight if you are going to stay for a couple of nights.

Hi Cove,

Yes i guess i can change the flight to arrive earlier. Just that the one arriving past midnight is supposed to be the A350 plane, and i want to experience the A350 for the first time :) I will be pissed off if they change the A350 at the last minute though !

I don't know where you are flying from but if departing BNE, 3 out of the 4 daily flights are A350-900 and the other is 777-200 from later this year

Hi Eric, i fly out from Melbourne. And for my departure day in June 2018, the flight departing 625pm from Melbourne is an A350. (SQ208) It seems like the only flight with the A350.

Checked luggage is not a problem.

It's actually recommended if you are transitting for the night to go directly to Aerotel airside and then go to left luggage in the morning to collect your bags. I have done this a few times over the years where I've stayed in the lounge/terminal through the night and gone to collect bags in the morning to check-in for next flight.

What JohnK says.

The recommendation against aerotel with checked bags applies only for outbound travel from Singapore, and only for airlines other than Singapore Airlines (where you can check in up to 48 hours prior to departure).

For other airlines you can't check-in that early, so wouldn't be able to take your bags to the hotel.

I have used the hotel on arrival. Your bags are taken off the reclaim and stored for you. You collect them when you've finished with the hotel.

You could try SQ Suites out of Sydney......I think you would get Krug champagne......

This far out I would not expect the A350 to still be operating that specific flight. You have a reasonable chance, but SQ does tend to swap planes around.
