I am doing a combination status run and romantic weekend in Fiji ex BNE. Should I get duty free to consume in Fiji in BNE or on arrival in NAN?

Would a recent visitor to NAN be kind enough to share this information with me?

I would be most truly grateful.

Hi There.

Personally I would buy in Nadi. The prices are cheaper than here in Australia.

Don't foget to haggle a little bit as The prices are negotiable!!

Have a great time.

Thx for the tip.

Do you mean, NAN Airport or in the town.

The Airport.

I have found it considerably cheaper than buying here in Australia.

You’re doing a SC run direct from BNE, not via any other cities? ;)

bossreggie, is the range in Nadi similar to Australia?

Ha, good question.

It started off BNE - SYD - MEL - NAN - MEL -ADL - SYD - BNE, but ....., now its BNE - NAN - MEL -SYD - BNE.

My partner lives in MEL but is flying out of SYD! She is WP and LTG, so it's more of the same for her.

Should have been a bit more attentive to max credits for min $$$, I suppose.

Hey samh004

There is not as much variety... However ALL the major brands are readily available.

Just also check the exchange rate history before you decide to buy there. What is cheaper there in July might not be in September.

And, especially if you are staying at a resort, buy bottled water on arrival. A six pack of 1l Fiji Water is much cheaper than any resort and probably anywhere else in Fiji.

I see ADL in there, that’s an interesting route back. My Christmas run shall be BNE-MEL-SYD-NAN vv.

Cool, I doubt we’ll need to buy alcohol for our few days there, though perhaps a bottle of champagne wouldn’t go amiss.

Good advice, thanks!

Visitors aged over 17 have an allowance of 2 litres of alcoholic spirits, or 4 litres of wine or 4 litres of beer and 500 cigarettes or 500 grams of tobacco product.
