Hi All,

SWMBO has a booking of;
MEL-DXB QF9
DXB - GVA QF8089
GVA - DXB QF8090
DXB - MEL QF10

She has a connection time of greater than 9hrs in each direction. (she's flying Y)

from looking at this page Dubai Connect | Qantas I would have thought she was eligible for 'Dubai Connect'. The work TA has a differing view and claimed she isn't.

Have I missed something or has the TA got it wrong?

Just get the QF booking number, log in and have a look at the options - the new services such as Dubai Connect should come up just above the flight details in a new section Customise Your Journey ( I think ) Failing that give Qantas a call to discuss

reading the link above it certainly suggests more than 8 hours qualifies - but could be wrong...

I would sugest that the TA has it wrong. With the transit time being more than 8 hours and flying in economy she is definitely entitled to Dubai Connect. Perhaps the TA was considering that it was only available to J and F Passengers.

Unless their is another flight that is available earlier. In which case why not change to that :D

The link shows slightly differnt wording for the economy passengers, it adds the mysterious words

"and who have eligible tickets".

I wonder if this is a hidden catch.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Are both flights booked on the one ticket or are they seperate tickets? This could be an issue.

Eligible tickets would mean all on one ticket for example as detailed further in the linked document

There is a HIX at DXB as a worst case scenario, hotels are nicely priced in DXB vs SIN, which is nice.

They're on one ticket.

I can't find any earlier flights to/from DXB-GVA with a QF codeshare.

Ta Markis10 - I'm not sure on the company policy of paying for a room for 9ish hrs. It will keep me busy researching it for a couple of hrs in the morning

An update, the TA contacted QF who advised SWMBO is eligible.

She can request/cancel via MMB.
