Dubai connect - worth pursuing?

In 3 weeks, we are traveling QF9 to Dubai with a connection on Emirates to Dublin exactly 8hrs later. At the time of booking, the layover between flights was eligible for the Dubai Connect service.

Discovered today that both QF9 and connecting Emirates flight have been slightly retimed. Booking no longer eligible for the Dubai connect service with 8hr window now falling short by 15mins.

Is it worth pursuing original Dubai Connect eligibility or better to make an independent airport hotel booking. Taking into account the need to depart the airport, how many hours of rest could reasonable be expected via the DC service? Am traveling upper deck Y.

Cheers.

There is a Holiday Inn express at the airport, could be a good alternative

Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Thanks Markis10. Hadn't looked at that option but that will be very useful as I need one more Sat stay for a 'Big Win' challenge. Question - if not eligible for Dubai Connect, are we still able to check bags through to Dublin or will we need to collect and check in again at DXB? All on same QF ticket.

Should be able to through check.

I'd pursue it - based on it being part of the original conditions of the ticket....
