Hello all,
I am booked on a flight from Sydney to London next month, in F, which I booked earlier this year. I have some questions regarding Dubai Connect, which I have not been able to find answers to from a search.
On the way back, I am flying on QF8008 (EK8), which gets into Dubai at 18.45, then leaving on QF8412 (EK412), which leave Dubai at 10.15am the next morning. Now the first available connection after QF8008 leaves at 02.15, which is over the 6hour threshold for Dubai Connect.
Now according to the terms and conditions, I am technically not eligible for Dubai Connect, as I am not on the next available flight, yet on MMB, it shows this as an eligible flight for Dubai Connect, and has allowed me to book it. Does anyone have any anecdotal evidence, or first hand experience, to say whether this will be honoured (I have taken a screenshot as proof of booking).
Secondly, it says that vouchers will be given on the flight to Dubai, will this still happen even though it is an EK flight.
Thirdly, what is provided in the way of meals for Dubai Connect at the Le Meridien Hotel? All going well I'll be there for dinner and breakfast (which I assume will be a buffet).
If I am not eligible for Dubai Connect, I will just get a hotel for the night. Catching the earlier flight was not really an option, as it gets into SYD at 10pm, which means I would need to overnight in Sydney before connecting to my final destination.
Many thanks for all your help

I didn't realise those we're the T&Cs for Dubai Connect. I think I've seen it offered on the EK website on flight options that did not use the next available flight so I'd say you'd be okay.

Travelling on EK metal shouldn't be a problem as EK offer the same service and I'd guess Qantas plug into the EK offering.
Good luck!

They don't care about the next available flight, pretty much just from your ticket and the time threshold at the time of booking Dubai Connect at greater than 6 and less than presumably 24... Yes all buffet for all meals - not too bad. No vouchers on plane just head towards the Dubai Connect desk after you have an online or phone booking - both pop up in their system the same, so I guess yours is already there. I have had trouble not letting me do it online, so i do the booking on the phone. Have had no issues and there were earlier flights.

If Le Meridian you will have a choice of 6 or 7 restaurants and not all buffet but designated items on menu. Did it last week. After you go to the Connection desk and get your paperwork for hotel pass through immigration and head to transport desk near exit 4.
