I have an coming flight SYD-BNE (QF)-AUH-EDI (EY) all on the same ticket. Is it possible to check in and drop the bags off in the morning and return to the airport later to board the flight?

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure what time the flight would open to be able to bag drop, but if you're going from the CBD to the airport and back the train costs about $26 ret. so it would be cheaper to find one of the hostels in the immediate vicinity and drop your bags there for a few hours.

Domestic check in should be fine. I don't know if they interline to EY, but that's a separate issue.

In terms of the airport cost. If you use Opal that gate fee is capped for the week, so you'd only pay $23 towards that, with no gate fee required when going back to the airport from the CBD. There also used to be a weekly gate pass. but I can't find the pricing. Might be worth contacting airport link.

QF interline to most airlines when booked on the same ticket. If separate tickets then the other airline must be either One World or EK.

AFAIK SYD dom checkin opens 6 hours before hand so if on a flight at 1400 the earliest you could check bags in would be 0800.

I don't think there's an IATCI agreement between QF & EY however you'd just get your EY b/passes at BNE Intl.

Remember the TBus from BNE dom to intl is free for all so you don't need a boarding pass to jump on just head directly to the bus stop outside the QF terminal when you get off your flight from SYD.

There's also a bus stop outside VA and you can even take suitcases on the bus if you need to.
