Does the Amex Referral bonus webpage work?

I've used the refer a friend page from Amex to get an offer sent to a friend for the bonus points offer but it doesn't seem to send out the emails to that friend despite the webpage confirming all is ok. Anyone else get this issue?
Is it an automated service or does someone vet it before the email gets sent?

When I used it, it worked immediately.

My wife was my "friend"..so I actually sent it to mt own account and it also arrived immediately.

Yes same, for me, easy to check the same way, send yourself an invite!

Two friends both of whom say they never received the invite. I think I am going to get dudded.

I worked it out. I included my email address which was on a domain that one of my 'friends' was also on (and they didnt get e email).My ISP was treating them as 'viruses' and proudly sent me an email after a month telling me that they did me a great service by blocking them!

By comparison a h*tmail addressed email got through. So it's something to be aware of if your friends don't get the mail referral.
