Do you still get Hilton Status Perks booking via 3rd party

Hey guys, I have Hilton GOLD but I can find cheaper rates booking through OTA like booking or hotels.com.
Will I still get the gold perks if i provide my membership details on check in? Things like:
- Free breakfast
- bonus points?
- upgrades?
 
thanks for confirming. Looks like i have to book direct with www.hilton.com.
I've never used the membership before so with the upgrade do you have to ask for it at check in or will they do it automatically if there is a better room available?
The free breakfast is for the two guest i assume?
 
Depends on the hotel.
Typically putting through upgrades is the job of the night manager so if you check the rooms shown to you via online check-in you may notice a change the morning of check-in.

Others push it with front desk
 
Sorry to bump an old thread. I have booked a reservation via a third party site and then had my Hilton Honours number added to the reservation by calling the hotel direct. The stay is now showing up on my upcoming stays on the Hilton website. Is there any chance that I will receive my status perks given that the reservation is now against my HHonours number?

Yeah it was an odd one - a friend was trying their luck at being a TA and was working at FC, otherwise I would usually book direct. The Hilton claimed it was booked with an OTA.

Looking back through the email chain, in fact they claimed it was made on booking.com (I paid in FC GCs though so the only explanation for that is FC booked it through booking.com when i asked for a price match). I was denied breakfast and lounge access. Quotes from the email from the Hilton:

Due to the change in policy by Hilton since October 2015, only direct bookings through the Hilton website, or by contacting the reservations team directly to book are eligible for points and benefits.
As per below, unfortunately all third party reservations are also ineligible for any benefits inclusive the executive lounge.
Please book directly with us in the future in order to make use of these benefits.

YMMV of course just thought this experience was worth sharing.

Amex FHR is very different and there are other programs that you can get through a TA such as Virtuoso.Eg I was booked at the Ritz Carlton in Perth and my Plat status means nothing there.But with Virtuoso booking I got brekkie every morning,club entry and already upgraded 3 months out.
Also there are select TAs that can access similiar offers through the various hotel chains.Bonvoy have STARS and Luminous programs.I am sure Hilton would have one too. But you need to have a TA who can access those programs.

Might be out of luck.

I had my Hilton number added to a booking (made by work's TA). Showed in the app and after checkout, I could see it in my past stays. No points earn and no access to status benefits during the stay.

As a data point, I also had the same happen to a Marriot property. When adding my number by calling the hotel direct the front desk was very clear that my booking was not eligible for any status benefits and no points would be earned.

Do I need to call Hilton to get them to manually add or should I call Amex to see if they have a 10 digit Hilton number?

Booked online using Hotel Collection rate, prepaid and partially used a Amex Travel Credit. Called Hilton Sydney to add the HH Gold number, on arrival was upgraded to Exec Room, included breakfast etc.

Today full points posted incl. Amex Travel Credit value.

Did they ask you how you made the booking? Usually if they find out it's from a third party site, they won't do it. But given you've booked through Amex THC, the option to add your hotel loyalty program number should be there.

I just said the travel agent didn’t put my HH number in.

I couldn’t see the option to add the HH number online. I recall it in the past, but it seems to have disappeared or not show when pre-paid.

Tried to search online to see if the Amex FHR and the Hotel collection related bookings work in terms of getting the Hilton points and stays. Thanks for this. Did the booking eventually get reflected on the Hilton site?

I've seen the American version of the Amex bookings work, but looking at the above it should work for the Australian version as well. If I'm not able to use the travel credit for flights, then Hilton Sydney might be the next best thing.
