Returning to syd from pom, via bne. On the syd leg i noticed a rash i had the day earlier fet quite a bit worse. I informed the cabin staff who were immenseley caring and made sure i was ok and comfortablme.

The end result was 100+ passengers were 20 mins late disembarking and i was taken to hospital (it turned out as a possible reaction to medication or the pom heat).

so sorry to all those passengers, but i would rather be safe then have you all in hospital with me.

what would others have done?

I think you did the right thing.

I am not sure I would tell anyone as I get rashes quite regularly and don't want to unnecessarily alarm anyone.

Depends when I noticed it. If I was aware of the rash prior to boarding the plane I'd immediately seek medical advice and wouldn't board the plane. I'm not a panicker or worrier by an means, but would hate to be 'that person' who travels when they shouldn't and is carrying something like measles or similar - could well be putting others at risk.

Absolutely the right thing to do both for yourself and everyone else. Whats a 20 min wait in the scheme of things for an unexpected problem.
Hope its all resolved.

20 minutes? Not such a big deal (but bordering on it... 20 minutes sitting doing 'nothing' feels like a long time).

But what if the delay had been an hour or more while QF sought medical staff to come to the plane and get clearance? That would have been unacceptable.

I would have sought medical advice before boarding the SYD flight.
