My 2yo son and I are going to join my husband for a business trip and we are going to book reward seats on points. My husband is claiming it was 28,600 points bne-mel return. The next day when i searched all i could find was exactly double, 57,200. Settle an argument for me was there a sale that ended on 3/02 and we missed it (we couldn't book that day because I was away for work myself and didn't have time to look at what flights I wanted). OR did he select baby instead of child and that 28,600 is the return economy reward for 1 seat?

The 57200 price sounds like a " any seat" reward . These are based on what ever commercial fare is on the day.

Are you after a Anyseat or a reward seat ?

this was for 2 'economy reward' returns bne-mel 14,300pts each person each way.
looking to use least pts possible

A sale did end 3/2.

There was never a sale on reward seats.. last one was about 12 months back .. I think the OP issue is that when they looked the next day, the reward seats had sold out

Something has changed.

I am planning a MEL-AUH-MUC trip using Economy Reward and have been checking for weeks and it has always been around 60,000 points. I've also considered flying from PER to save some points as it was a fair bit lower at only 47,000 points. I cannot find a reward seat from PER or MEL for less than 70,000 for any date in 2015. it seems 70,000 is the norm from PER and 80,000+ from MEL??

This page has the points listed. I've been monitoring award seats to Europe and the USA for a couple of months and pulled the trigger a week ago. There hasn't been a sale on award seats as such. The points haven't changed in ages.

Of course the ANY SEAT AWARD prices change all the time....but thats such bad value nobody would consider it...

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I spoke with the call centre and they confirmed there are still plenty of reward seats for my trip at the expected 62,000 points but I can see no availability for any rewards on Etihad to MUC. Looks like another website issue.

I would probably call them over booking online.

My question really was is it possible that 2 return BNE-MEL reward seats could possibly have been under 30,000pts? I think my husband selectred infant rather than child when he searched, though he claims he saw each segment as around 7,000pts whereas each segment in econ reward is 14,300. I should probably just pull the trigger and book for 57,200.
