What can i say?

Our local dining club is travelling to Melbourne and I'm in charge of the restaurants

Little miss fussypot (aged 50 something and is NOT mrs C) demands that i find her a huge extravagant dessert somewhat similar to the ones she has seen on masterchef!

So does anyone have any suggestions?
Budget isn't really an issue

I wont tell you the rest of her issues apart from will eat any meat as long as its from a cow!
WHite meat isnt meat apparently :)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Is this like a dining safari thing? Entree at one place, main another and desserts somewhere else or just a dessert somewhere?

what? an AFF event I organised a couple of years back :)

If you can't find good food in Melbourne, you aren't in Melbourne :)

Meant to say that Darren & Purchese were featured on Masterchef. I didn't watch Masterchef myself, but was told this by others who did.

Best dessert in Melbourne is the pear tarte tartin at Bistro Vue.

Acland Street St Kilda. The various cake shops down there. You'll not have an issue finding something there to please everyone!

Albert St Food and Wine (Philippa Sibley)

Bistro Vue - Chocolate Souffle

try Mr Hive's Kitchen at Crown Metropol (formerly Gordon Ramsay's Maze). They have a dessert station with sit down bar where you can watch the chef plate your dessert. I think this will suit the masterchef theme VERY well indeed. Look it up on urbanspoon and you can see a few peoples blogs which include visits to the dessert station/bar.

It's ok for a hotel restaurant. Not very 'Melbourne'....

My recco is Illona Staller in Balaclava/St Kilda East. It's where we take all our celeb clients now who don't want to be seen. Ryan Gosling and SJP were recents as well.

Great menu on a cool little strip away from the hotels and tourist traps :)

great shop in Toorak Rd south yarra callied LUXBITE. I just went today, yum yum. all desserts

Sitting in the hilton after taking my dessert fiend friend to ilona staller last nightThanks to Pauly7 for the recommendation
Food was great , service was great and even more importantly the chocolate fondant was outstanding especially as it came with a (non standard) sparkler
Possibly beat the chocolate device thing at the sharing house the night before

The price for 6 of us was also way below what we are used to paying at home as well
No movie stars spotted that we knew of!
The double cooked lamb ribs were amazing and the steak actually came out cooked as requested

The girls found burch purchese in chapel st but didnt mange luxbite

Thanks to all for making their weekend
