Decent hotel [to overnight] near JFK?

Need to stay 1 night close to JFK as have 1 night stopover.
Have to catch 0800 flight next day so closer the better.
Any recommendations? Also cheap would be good, basically we will be sleeping there the night and that's it so long as the bed bugs don't bite we're cool.

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Queens/JFK Airport earlier this year for exactly this reason. Wasn't too expensive and they run shuttle buses at all hours to pick up and drop off at the airport.

I've stayed at a few of the JFK airport hotels. They're all about the same (in my experience anyway).

I'd just go with the cheapest "chain" hotel and make sure it's got a shuttle from the AirTrain station.

HVR - I think thats a sale
N860 - that was my first option but trip advisor is ranking them pretty low so bit concerned. Plenty of time to research so will do the Howard Johnston thing later.

Those airport hotels are all pretty average so lower your expectations !!

However if you are at the Novotel in TPE then that's a different story
