Hi everyone,

My question is based off this excerpt on the OW website:

"First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa)."

If I am traveling from HND to PER through HKG (on an award booking), and
- HND to HKG is in F
- HKG to PER is in J

Would I still be able to use the F lounges while in transit in HKG?

Thanks :)

As the F flight is under 5 hours the official answer is no. You might get lucky but I wouldn't count on it.

I know that CX has slightly more generous rules over and above the OW entitlements... for example arriving long haul CX F and connecting to long haul CX J will give you F lounge access (when in reality the second flight is supposed to be short haul under OW rules).

So worth looking at the lounge invite they'll issue you at HND, or even trying at the F lounge. CX short-haul F may be treated differently to long haul.

Damn.. 4hr 35 min from HND and 4hr 50 min from NRT (not that they fly F from there).

Can anyone think of any alternatives that will give me guesting rights? Main reason is J has no guesting rights and my friends are traveling in Economy.

And even if it doesn't work out, we can still use the JAL First Lounge at HND right? :)
