Depending on how you look at it, they are the world's luckiest or unluckiest tourists.
British couple Jason and Jenny Cairns-Lawrence have been on holiday in Mumbai, London and New York just as terrorists have attacked each of those cities, and have survived each occasion.

If this story is true then you definitely don't want to travel with this couple.

Do others doubt the veracity of this story?

It might be true, it might be a hoax. But to be honest, the odds of it happening are reasonable.

They 'in the city' of the three events. The cities involved are actually a pretty big. Considering how much some people here travel, then the odds of them doing the same is actually reasonable (as scary as that thought is).

Only worse one I've heard of was the story of Wilmer Mclean... In 1861 he was living on a pleasant estate along the stream known as Bull Run... near the town of Manassas Junction VA...

He had had enough after that battle was fought over his land... and moved - to an farm in an isolated area of southern VA... his house situated in the village of Appomattox Courthouse.....

Lee and Grant met in his home April 9 1865...........

"The War started in his front yard and ended in his parlour"

Do enough travel and you can have plenty of misses (or hits).

My father has travelled extensively for work over the last 20 years - he was in QF's top 20 FF's at one stage.

He
- flew out of NYC on Sept 10
- Flew out of London 2 days prior to the subway bombing
- changed planes at LAX (connecting flight early) so he got the direct flight home to SYD and got moved off UA811 (United Airlines Flight 811 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

I'm sure there's hundreds more.

Basically, go to enough places, you're bound to cross something. I guess it's plausable, but why you'd then want to publicise youself for your "bad luck" is beyond me.

The guy who trains us for building evacuations tells a story of a consultant who lived out of the twin towers because his last 3 jobs were in buildings that had to be evacuated for earthquakes or fires at different places around the world. Apparently he just left at the first bang.

So I reckon this is probably true

No idea if its true or not but im follwing Snrdocjames around on my travels preferably...

Slightly OT but frightening: Heard the story (said to be documented) about a man who was slightly injured in the Hiroshama attack, then also survived the Nagasaki blast.

Nuked twice in a few days! No information how he went in later years.

Towns are only about 4 hours apart by train these days so travel would have been possible then.

There is actually a group within the atomic bomb survivors would were in Nagasaki doing a road show about the experience of the first blast in Hiroshima. This is well known because there has been an ongoing study with these people (and others) on the long term effects of radiation.
