G'day there.

This may not be the right place to ask this, and if it has been asked before please let me know where to look.

I am trying to book my 4th trip ADL-LIS early in 2014.

The normal searches on QANTAS website seem to all send me via EK codeshares from DXB to LIS so I lose a pile of SC's on the last leg. I got caught out with this last time because I didn't read the terms and conditions closely enough.

* When I go on EF I see the flight numbers I used to catch before the Emirates deal (i.e. ADL-QF678-MEL-QF9-SNG-QF9-LHR-BA500-LIS) are still available, but this does not show up on the searches.
* When I look for individual legs on the QANTAS site I see I can fly all the way to MAD or BCN on QF flight numbers, but I don't seem to be able to book a complete flight to LIS via either of these two cities even though I know there are connecting OneWorld flights on the last leg to LIS.

Is there some way I can construct my own flight in the website or do I have to call them or see a travel agent?

I hope that made sense!

Thanks for your time.

Have you tried multi city on the QF web site? If not TA or QF by phone
But it may be more expensive. You could buy ADL-UK and a seperate ticket UK-LIS. But then you pay the Air Passenger Duty
Up to you if the SC's are worth the extra cost. Many people spend more money for miles & SC's, but then do not get the value from them.

IIRC QF9 now goes MEL-DXB-LHR and not MEL-SIN-LHR.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Using the QF multi city tool will bring up the x/LHR option. Put in the following: ADL-MEL, MEL-LHR, LHR-LIS and the same for the return. Be aware that routing via LHR will possibly cost you more. You could also route ADL-MEL-SIN-DXB-LHR-LIS if you are really up for it, but finding availability will be harder.

Ensure you change flight at DXB rather than take QF9 the whole way to LHR to maximise SC's. Certain flights such as QF1 are also not allowed in some of the cheapest Y fares (mostly O class ones) which raises the price even further.

If early 2014 is January QF have a double SC offer out now
DOUBLE STATUS CREDITS
on eligible Qantas domestic flights for travel in December 2013 and January 2014 when you register and book in December 2013.
