Hi All

I am hoping that someone with more experience than I will be able to help shed some light on the Conrad Bali Pool Suites. According to their website these Suites have a private pool.

i could not bring up availability for any dates on their website, and so called the property directly. It was hard to get the res agent to understand what I was looking for, but eventually she advised that they do have suites with Private Pool available on my preferred dates. Have now sent 2 email reservation requests, no response, no booking yet!

Has anyone stayed in one of these villas, and if so is it worth the perseverance? I would like to maintain Hhonors Diamond, and this would help me go close, but I am starting to wonder if this property is worth it, for the USD 830 per night quoted.

Any personal experience at this property would be appreciated!

I've stayed at the Conrad Suites, which is like a sub hotel in the Conrad Bali. The Suites have a shared private pool, i.e. a pool that only those staying in the Suites can access. It is a very nice pool, but the lounge and Ren restaurant, with about 10-12 day beds/cabanas and the staff serve occasional refreshments throughout the day.

Additionally there is a room type within the Conrad Suites that has a private plunge pool. I have not stayed in this room type, only the basic suite (which is GIANT, and I've stayed in a few suites before). The property is nice, the lounge access that the suites give is excellent (although HH Diamnod would get the access anyway), the free laundry is a decent perk too. I have reviewed it, along with the Laguna Nusa Dua (SPG), recently as we stayed in both last year.

I don't know how much a private plunge pool is worth to you. We were pretty much the only people at the Suites pool anyway last year, and then you get sorbet and water service etc.

Anybody with Club Privilages will have access to the Pool. It is still a very quite pool though. Personally I prefer the Lagoon rooms as you walk out your balcony and straight into the pool.....

Is this the hotel policy or what just what happens in practice? I don't remember anything saying that Diamonds are meant to get access. I would imagine that if challenged you wouldn't have much to stand on.

I stayed at this horrible property for two nights (before I couldn't take it any more) in January. The staff are clueless, the rooms are dangerously wired (one could have been easily electrocuted in the bathroom), the decor all horribly dated. I ended up spending two weeks at the W in Seminyak instead.

Were you in the Conrad Suites or the Conrad itself?

I did not have a problem with the staff, as far as I can recall. I also thought the rooms were quite nice in the suites, not as dated as some other SE Asian hotels at which I have stayed. Not sure how you could be electrocuted in the bathroom, but I'm sure that is possible.

Only the presidential type suite(1) has its own pool. As a Diamond member you can sometimes be upgraded to the suites at checkin but its not a given.

Yep thats the one I mean. One pool suite with own pool in entire Hotel. The presidential etc do not have own pool.

Leaving aside earning HHonors status, for that kind of money (presumably plus tax) you're getting into Aman territory and I suspect you would find much better Bali resorts than even the best suites at the Conrad. Maybe worth having a search in the Flyertalk Luxury Hotels forum for Bali and you will find some very good choices. I have not stayed at the Conrad but it does not have the best rep. Just a thought...

There are the pool suites with their own pool and also the penthouse suite which has a private pool, as per the link ;)

There is one of each in the three wings, one on the ground and one on the top floor.

Bugger youtube link is not loading. Thanks for that. I have stayed in the suites each time I go but have been told only the one with private pool. I will ask to see one on the next trip. Mind you the suites pool always seems to be under utilised which is nice.
